Dear Waycross Community:
It is with great sadness that I am reporting the passing of Lennie Baughman into God’s eternal care. He died peacefully on Tuesday, September 9th at Indiana University Hospital after a battle with cancer. His family was at his side at his death. Judy and Lennie would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this October11th. This wonderful husband and wife team was at Waycross from 1963 to 1989. They have also been an important part of the St. David’s Parish family in Bean Blossom.
Lennie’s memorial service will be Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 3 PM at the Waycross Outdoor Chapel. A reception will follow in the new Assembly building. In case of in climate weather, the service will be held in the Assembly Building at Waycross.
Lennie and Judy were part of the foundational period of growth of Waycross over the course of three decades. Lennie represents, for many, a key father figure of the Waycross experience. He had a huge impact on the life of Waycross and the thousands of people who passed through here during his 26 years of leadership. I hope you will help us celebrate his life on the 28th through your presence or through your prayers and thoughts. If you can’t be with us, please send on your Lennie stories as well as condolences to the family. I know we will be finding some special ways to remember his life at Waycross.
